Dogs – The Secret Lives Of Our Four-Legged Friends
Hello everyone, and welcome to another River Dogs dog blog! This is our first doggy transmission from our new Sunday time slot; we figured that you could do with a doggy-pick-me-up towards the end of the week to prepare you for Monday morning, and hopefully, our four-legged friends will finish off your Sunday in the best possible way! We hope that you enjoyed our last blog on dog swimming near me and that you’ve been making use of some of our dog walking rainy day essentials in the wet and windy weather! If not, you’re gonna need them soon!
Now the topic of today’s blog might be a little bit hard to believe, and some of you might even disapprove slightly, but we think that you’ll be interested in our findings. You see, we’ve been spying on the River Dogs without them knowing. I know it’s not exactly ‘P.C’, but we wanted to see what they got up to while we weren’t in the room. It seems that our furry customers have very secret lives that you or I have never found out about, and we’re here to show you what they’ve been up to over the past week!
The Secret Life Of Dogs – What The River Dogs Get Up To While We’re Away!
I know that a lot of you have been getting excited about the rugby over the past few days, but sadly, dogs haven’t had a chance to try rugby in the big leagues just yet. They are, however, pretty good at catching, and we recently caught Alfie trying out his cricket skills in the River Dogs play yard! Our secret cameras caught him catching every one of the balls that the guys from the neighbouring business threw over the fence for him; the boy’s a natural! Alfie definitely has a career with the Yorkshire Cricket Team if he keeps catching like that! We’ll keep all four paws crossed for you!
Meanwhile, back in the office, a certain someone was trying his hand at being the boss! River Dogs very own Albie decided that he would try to take a leaf out of Helen’s book and try his paw at running the business for a while. He might not have managed to work the telephone very well, but his typing skills are very good! It turns out that claws are pretty good for getting a good words-per-minute ratio! The rest of the River Dogs told us that Albie was a brilliant boss and that they wouldn’t mind him taking over again if Helen ever wanted to take holiday leave!
Some of our dogs sleep when we leave the room, and others take the opportunity to go crazy with their friends. Some of them, however, take the opportunity to practice their filmstar poses and to rehearse their lines for their latest play. That’s right; our very own Bess was caught trying out a few choice angles and working on her superstar stare while we were monitoring our puppy pals through the secret cameras that we had set up. Bess has an amazing speaking voice; we wouldn’t be surprised if she didn’t replace Anton Lesser in reading all of the classic Dicken’s novels very soon!
This Buffy might not be a vampire slayer, but she certainly is one tough cookie! You might think that those paws are made for the boxing ring, but Buffy’s talents lie in a much more creative art. Right after this picture was taken, she jumped down and gave us a little ditty on the River Dogs piano! She’s an absolute natural, whipping out Mozart and Beethoven as easy as if they were nursery rhymes. If you ask her to give you a rendition she usually makes an excuse and shys away; genius’s arent usually modest, but our Buffy is definitely one of a kind!
We had a little bit of trouble trying to find Logan on the cameras, and now we know why! While the rest of our four-legged friends were trying their hands at their favourite hobbies or pretending to do different jobs for the day, Logan was doing what Logan does best, and that’s giving the best cuddles in the Yorkshire Dales. It’s a good job that he’s such an approachable guy; if you look that cute and fluffy, then people are bound to come in and get a snuggle whenever they get half a chance. Luckily for us, Logan gives us plenty of them. Lola usually has yellow flowers in her hair and can be found singing down at the Copacabana, but today she’s hanging out with the other River Dogs at the coolest swing-joint and doggy day care centre in town! Lola was a born entertainer with a set of pipes that would make even the strongest Yorkshiremen cry. With a range of tunes from Irish folk songs through to modern-day classics, Lola is definitely an up-and-coming star and one to watch. Once Simon Cowell cottons on to the fact that a pet X-Factor is the way to go, we wouldn’t be surprised if Lola got snapped up for a recording contract!
