Doggy Christmas – Get Festive With The River Dogs!

Hello everyone, and welcome to another brand-spanking-new River Dogs Dog Blog about a fun-filled doggy Christmas! Whether you’re one of our Tadcaster Doggy Day Care regulars or a new dog on the block who found us after searching for ‘doggy daycare near me‘, our dog blogs have something for everyone and appeal to anyone with four legs and a waggy tail! Just ask the guys from Hollywood that came to film the best doggy daycare in Yorkshire, they’ll tell you all about us!

Last weeks informative blog on Pet Diabetes might have been quite a serious subject, but it’s one worth learning about and a major topic in the pet health world. This week, however, we’re heading back to a very familiar centre for doggy care near me to look at how the poochy-pals there are preparing for Christmas. It might be early, but the River Dogs like to give the jolly red fat man a warm welcome when he arrives. No, I’m not talking about everyone’s favourite Mark ‘the Man in Shorts’ Scott; I’m talking about the one and only Santa Claus and his sack full of Jumbones, Kongs, Puppacino makers, and more! So, join us as we check out what preparations our four-legged friends are making for the big day as we dive headfirst into everyone’s favourite daycare for dogs centre!

It’s Beginning To Look A Lot Like Christmas!  Our day care unit provides a consistent, fun and caring setting for your dog to play, relax and socialise so you can focus & concentrate on the day job.

It’s no secret that our dogs are big kids at heart, and as a big kid myself, I know how exciting the run-up to Christmas is. If you’re really going to get into the business of spreading festive cheer and singing loud for all to hear, then you have to start by putting decorations up and helping gloomy grinches to feel jolly as they step through the front door (not that there are any green, hairy Christmas haters on the Yorkshire Doggy Day Care scene of course!)

The River Dogs and our amazing staff have been working hard to make sure that our HQ looks just like Santa’s Grotto at the North Pole. After doing lots of extensive research, our very own Hyrulian Princess Zelda has been putting up tinsel on every ledge and hook that she can get her paws up to. This is much trickier than it sounds, however, and Zelda has ended up looking more and more like a Christmas decoration herself as the days have gone by. Maybe she could double up as our doggy Christmas angel or star topper on the top of the tree; what do you guys think?

How To Catch A Claus

If you want to catch the jolly fat man at work (again, I’m talking about Santa, not Mark), then you’ve got to put in some pre-doggy Christmas training to make sure that your reactions are quick and your movements are agile. Barney has been doing a bit of Karate Kid style training with his favourite biscuits in order to catch ol’ Saint Nick in the act. If he can jump up and catch his biscuits in mid-air, then he should be quick enough to spot any signs of movement near his chimney on doggy Christmas Eve. The only problem is that Barney tends to have a nice nap after his training sessions have finished and is out for the count for a good few hours. Looks like Santa’s secret is going to be safe for a little while longer, ey Barney Boy?

Customer Participation

Of course, no dog daycare centre is complete without its furry customers joining in with the doggy Christmas spirit. Alfie the Spanador has been trying on his Santa Suit for size in preparation for the big day, but it seems that he’s finding it a little uncomfortable this year. Too many mince pies already, Alfie? Don’t worry, I know the feeling too!

Others have been practising sitting on Santa’s knee for those rare occasions that he’s seen stopping off at shopping centres to stock up on toys. Maisie has perfected sitting up straight and looking cute, but will she be able to hold it all together if she gets a tickle from the Man in Red? It looks as though we might need a little more training, not that Maisie will be complaining of course!
