Daycare For Dogs – How River Dogs Makes The Most Of The Snow!
Well, the weather outside is frightful once again, and the fire is still oh so delightful. No, we’re not losing our marbles and yes we know that Christmas has passed, but all of this snow has made us feel as though we’re back in a winter wonderland once again! And not only that but our four-legged friends are also enjoying the weird and wonderful changes to their usual surroundings too. It’s true that the River Dogs crew love the river (the clue is in the name), but they certainly can’t miss the chance to embark on a snowy daycare for dogs adventure!.
Barking In a Winter Wonderland – There’s ‘Snow’ Daycare For Dogs Like River Dogs
It’s always a funny sight when we let our customers totter out into the play yard when the snow has settled. Some of them run around as though it’s Christmas morning (check out the video below for bonafide proof of this!), some look wary and stake it out as though they’re on a Hawaii 5-0 style drugs bust, and others just try to wee on it to make it go away – cold paws aren’t for everyone. Can you spot which of these actions your dog is doing? Let us know on our Facebook page if you do!
Now, you might think that we’re most well known for being the first licensed daycare centre in the neighbourhood, or through the comic ramblings of our world famous dog blogs, but you’d be wrong. The River Dogs team are well renowned for our ability to walk your dogs come rain or shine (and we always do it without a frown). So when the heavens opened, and the barometer dropped to ‘stupidly cold’, we still donned out hats, scarves, gloves, extra mittens, jumpers, boots, thermals and overcoats, and made sure that our trusted customers got the exercise that they deserved. Some people might call us barmy, but it’s all in a days work for Helen, The Man In (Thermal) Shorts, and our trusty River Dogs Daycare squad. Airports and schools might close due to bad weather, but the daycare for dogs show must go on!
There’s Still Fun To Be Had When It’s ‘Furr-eezing’
It’s safe to say that our Doggy Day Care Yorkshire customers are hardy folk; rather than coming in wearing four little snow boots and hats pulled down over their ears, some of them turned up this morning wearing fashionable snowsuits and super cool hair-dos. Penny even donned a little Santa snow beard too to complete the look. They say that you should keep Christmas in your heart all year round, and I guess looking after innocent pups like these makes for festive fun no matter what day of the year it is. Penny is certainly a lot hardier than us with our five layers on; whatever she’s eating, we want some of it too!
For some though, the promise of a warm Tadcaster Doggy Day Care heated unit and a comfy sofa to lay on is the perfect way to while away a snowy afternoon. With cuddles and strokes on tap and the promise of a belly rub before the daycare for dogs day is over, not even a tennis ball or a rousing passage from the latest edition of the Dachshund Diaries can stir their spirits. Oh well; they do say the customer knows best after all!

So the next time the snow falls and you’re worried about whether your pooch will enjoy doggy daycare, think back to this blog and remember that they’re probably having a cosier time than you are! The only thing left for us to do is to try and get the Hot Puppacino machine fixed (Brutus has become such a diva since he won the Dog Daycare Chat Show last week; we’re having to ship in beans straight from the Brazilian rainforests every week now!
Thanks for checking out our snowy daycare for dogs blog, and we hope that you enjoyed seeing your little pals running around and enjoying themselves. If you’re still feeling the need to read our River Dogs feed, then why not check out our Doggy Daycare Near Me article and find out why Ronda loves River Dogs, or maybe you could keep in the festive spirit for a little bit longer and relive our River Dogs Christmas Carol!
